Camino Blog – Day 16

Hornillos to Castrojeriz

Welcome to this Camino Blog. If you are new it might be best to start with the introduction. Otherwise, carry on.

Location: Castrojeriz

Distance: 20.1km – 326.9km total.

Weather: Not great weather today. Threatened rain all day and started pelting down about an hour after we arrived. Funny enough it is not too bad for walking though.

Terrain: Walking through largely uninhabited farms etc. First half easy, second half as muddy as we have had it so far due to rain.

Physical condition:Okay, just living with feet at the mo. Hip gave a bit of grief today but hopefully will wear off.

Other: So if you need it confirmed that kiwis have an accent try saying “best bet” to an American (as in “your best best is probably to take a taxi back to Burgos to get a new phone as they don’t recover well from sitting in a pocket filled with rainwater”). No chance of being understood.

SB 4 – God is love

You are love

I am love

Pictures

Surely it doesn’t work but still irresistible

Another communal meal last night

Pins mark the start, end, and where we are now. Gulp!

I don’t care if they are not as environmentally friendly as people think, or cause issues to the grid, the fluid dynamics engineer within me likes these.

Bit muddy

Do architects lose their job over things like this?

  1. Hi Justin,
We are impressed with your commitment to walk this track. It will certainly give a life long memory.
Insisting that God show himself in some way during the track time for you to believe in his existence sounds a bit dodgy to me. Job didn’t hear for a long time, an Israelite born at year 200 in Egypt didn’t hear at all, and I am not impressed by Gideon twisting God’s arm. Genesis ch 1 seems to be saying that the Spirit of God was present even in chaos. I think God still works even when things are chaotic to us. Anyway the existence of God is better than the option. So I guess I pray for zGod to work in/despite people’s chaotic situations.
    Love,
    Dad
Peter. So. Wonderful photos. I’ve said that once already but it is true
